The Metaphysical Power of Unakite
Unakite is a composite stone made of red jasper (grounding), clear quartz (clarity), and epidote (growth and emotional healing), creating a unique stone of integrated balance and emotional healing. Named after the Unaka Mountains, it has become treasured as a stone for anyone on a healing journey, seeking to integrate all aspects of themselves and move forward with balanced perspective and grounded peace.
For the mind, Unakite brings a grounded, realistic perspective to thinking and helps you hold multiple viewpoints at once, easing rigid or extreme thinking patterns. It steadies the mind into balanced clarity. For anyone whose thinking has become unbalanced or whose perspective is skewed, it restores centered seeing.
For the spirit, it supports emotional healing and integration while keeping you grounded and moving forward, reminding you that healing happens gradually and that all emotions and experiences are part of your wholeness. Emotionally, it is a gentle healer, supporting the release of old emotional patterns while building grounded peace and self-acceptance.
For the body and your energy field, Unakite is traditionally associated with emotional healing, grounding, and moving forward on one's path with balance and perspective, long used to support recovery and integration. It surrounds your field with grounded, balanced, healing energy. Worn as a mala, it becomes a daily companion for healing—a reminder that wholeness includes all your experiences.

Salutations to Swastha — one who is whole, well-established, and at ease.
A Meditation Ritual for Your Mala
- Find a quiet space. Sit comfortably with a straight spine and soften your breath.
- Hold your mala in your right hand, draped over your middle finger.
- Begin at the bead beside the guru bead. Rest your thumb on the first bead.
- With each breath or each repetition of Om Swasthaya Namaha, roll one bead toward you with your thumb.
- Let the mantra settle the mind. When thoughts drift, gently return to the bead and the sound.
- Continue until you reach the guru bead again — one full round of 108.
- Do not cross the guru bead. Pause, give thanks, and rest in the stillness you have created.
Bond With Your Mala: 40 Days & 40 Nights
A mala becomes truly yours over time. For 40 days and 40 nights, simply keep your Unakite mala close and hold it each day — wear it, meditate with it, or rest it in your hands as you set your intention. That daily connection is all it takes to bond with your mala and make it your own.
How to Cleanse Your Mala
Your Unakite mala absorbs energy as you wear it. Cleanse it whenever it feels heavy, after intense emotions, or about once a month to keep it clear and vibrant.
Moonlight
Leave it under the full moon overnight to recharge gently and naturally.
Smoke
Pass it through the smoke of sage, palo santo, or incense to clear absorbed energy.
Sound
Use a singing bowl or bell; let the vibration wash through the beads to reset them.
Intention
Hold it, breathe, and visualize bright light dissolving anything it no longer needs to carry.
Note: keep Unakite away from harsh chemicals, and avoid prolonged soaking of knotted malas in water or salt.
Caring for Your Hand-Knotted Mala
- Remove your mala before showering, swimming, or sleeping to protect the cord and knots.
- Store it flat or hanging, away from other jewelry that could scratch the beads.
- Keep it away from perfume, lotion, and harsh chemicals.
- Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid prolonged soaking.
- Handle the tassel with care and smooth it straight when storing.
- Treated with love, your mala will be a companion for many years.
Why 108 Beads?
The number 108 is sacred across yogic and Vedic tradition. There are said to be 108 energy lines converging at the heart, 108 sacred sites, and 108 names of the Divine. Completing one full round of 108 repetitions is a complete cycle of devotion — a small pilgrimage you can hold in your hand.
